Settlement agent fees deregulated. Good news for home buyers and sellers!

As of May 2016, the fees charged by settlement agents in Western Australia will no longer be capped by the State Government. This announcement was made by Commerce Minister Michael Mischin who stated it was no longer necessary to cap settlement agent fees because these had become quite transparent and easily available online to all members of the public. This is in addition to other protections that are also to be put in place.

This change now allows Sure Settlements to provide its clients with even more competitive rates than ever before. This is because charges are no longer totally based on property sales value, but rather, and combination of property value and the amount of actual work performed in the settlement process by the agent. This leads to much clearer and accountable pricing structure of which clients can avail themselves.
